Race Essay: The Past is Never The Past

I picked this piece because it was one of my best works during race studies. Race was my favorite class this year because it was really interesting and it made me open my mind to learn about new things that I was not used to. I really enjoyed writing this particular piece because it gave me the opportunity to write about something which I was familiar with.  I was able to incorporate baseball and racism into a cohesive essay and with the help of Ms. Davis and Ms. Stahl I was able to get good grades on the different outcomes, but there is always space to improve.

Dug Brochure: Heroin

I picked this piece because it was a really interesting project and it gave me the chance to act as an informant about this specific drug. This project was about giving facts about a particular drug, in the brochure we explained the method of creating the drug amongst other things like its effects and its distribution methods. Forensics in general is a very interesting class and it is something that I am looking to pursue in my future academic career. Most of my projects for forensics have received good grades but this one not as high as I wanted because I rushed it and could have done a better job.

Creative Writing: Chapbook Poems

I am particularly proud of this work because poetry is not a very strong unit for me and it has not been in any kind of writing class. But I liked this project because it gave us an opportunity to write about anything which allowed me to express myself more in depth. This unit made me challenge myself into doing something that I didn't feel comfortable doing, and at the end although i didn't get a super high grade it was still high and I am proud that I pushed myself to do it.

Final Thoughts:
In each one of these pieces, I was able to take a given project assignment and apply my own creativity to it. Each piece also represented my growth as student in the toughest year of my high school experience.
