Student Profile
Aaron has been growing as a student since 5th grade. He has learned new things, met new people, and he has learned how to be a successful student. Since the start of 9th grade however all those things he learned he had forgotten. So at the start of 9th grade he had a different mentality when it came to school work. Aaron thought that he could slack off and still pass but he was wrong. After he received his first report card he turned things around, Aaron received most improved student for the next marking period and after that I never looked back. For the following marking period Aaron received student of the month, he was so happy to receive that because he was working really hard to improve his grades so he was glad to find out that all his hard work paid off. After he received good grades on certain projects like his Odyssey essay, his true New York poem, and his watercolor technique he realized that he has the capability to receive those grades on everything if he applied himself. And he made that realization come true, he received amazing grades on many more projects after that.  He became the student he always wanted to be.

Since September, Aaron’s personality has changed in various ways. For example in September he did not like doing community service, during our community service projects in advisory he was very difficult when it came to cooperating with his advisory group. But looking back now Aaron realized that it was for a good cause and he is glad he participated at the end of the project.  Some activities that Aaron participated in were the cleaning of his neighborhood baseball field. He is extremely proud of this because it was for something that he loves and it felt good to fix a field in which he has played so many games on. This just goes to show how much Aaron has grown as a person; He's more open to activities and not afraid to do so. He is a whole new person, a better one.

In his junior year he has now participated in classes such as Race Studies and Forensics, two classes in which he initially did not believe he would enjoy as much. However, after taking those classes he has found a liking for both subjects and hopes to pursue his liking for Forensics in college. While being active in his academics during this year, Aaron has also continued to participate on his schools baseball team. By doing so he has been able to grasp the skill of time management and has been able to develop his character as a student and as a player. Between baseball and his course choices throughout his junior year, Aaron has found a way to make improvements both inside the classroom and on the field, and he hopes to continue doing so throughout his final year at Frank McCourt High School.

In his last year in Frank McCourt, Aaron has figured out the type of student he wants to be in the future. He was able to challenge himself just like his teachers always told him to and the results were astounding. In his final year Aaron discovered who he wanted to be which was an educator thanks to a few of his teachers. Since ninth grade Aaron had an overwhelming interest in Humanities and in English which is why he took five english courses throughout his senior year. History and English are courses that Aaron is going to pursue as his majors in his years in Manhattanville College. Aaron Santos learned a lot over his four years in Frank McCourt High School and really grew as both a student and a person. He developed a great relationship with the majority of his teachers and developed in different areas which he will try to perfect in his college years.
